WHAT IS ERGONOMICS?
Ergonomics is about ensuring a good "fit" between people and the things they use and the tasks they perform. People vary significantly in body sizes, physical strength, ability to handle information and in many other ways. Ergonomics uses information about human abilities, attributes and limitations to ensure that our equipment, work and workplaces allow for these variations.

WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Ergonomics improves efficiency, quality, and safety. Ergonomics also brings financial benefits; Ergonomics is good Economics. Failure to observe Ergonomic principles can have serious repercussions, not only for individuals but also for the whole organisation. Ergonomics reduces illness & stress and prevents work accidents, thus also the cost of compensations. The application of ergonomics in work requires the understanding of the basic principles and practices.
